Stop Injustice

Hello Everyone,

Every fourth Wednesday of each month an injustice is posted to this blog.  Awareness is paramount to shining a light on not just injustice in America, but all over the world.

Give It Your All

Hello Everyone,

Can I just encourage you to give your dreams your all.  You can do what your heart desires, but step out, don't hold back and put your best to work.

The way that you look at you shows to everyone else.  So, it is important to be confident, if your heart has a passion for advocacy, then advocate and be good, the best, if your heart has a passion for writing, write and be the best.  If the desire and passion is there, you are more than half way.

Do not become afraid once opportunities open up and things begin to take shape and work in your favor.  The butterflies are just anticipation of the unknown, but what is for you, will be for you.  Go get it and always give it your all.

Syesha is an up and coming singer who gives it her all in the video.

HairCare Friday

 Hello Everyone,

It is once again, HairCare Friday; I hope that you are ready for a tutorial for another fantastic natural hairstyle.

You can have a neat tucked bun or a fluffy bun.

Showing how to style a high bun meet Ms. Danti1

Tutorial by +MsDanti1

Now, here is me showing my fluffy bun.

I brushed my hair up using a hair butter that I made, rubbed a generous amount of eco styler gel (olive oil) on my hair to smooth it up using the palm of my hand, then used a brush. After which, I used an ouch less headband to gather the hair, leaving out a small amount in the front two strand twisting it, then pinned the band in place.

Once all of my hair was on top, I two strand twisted my hair in chucks using the hair butter that I made and a little eco styler gel with some virgin olive oil and rolled the chunky twist with white perm rod rollers, rubbed olive oil on the sides and back, wrapped a satin scarf on and left the top out.

In the morning, I removed the scarf, took the rollers out, untwisted my hair fluffed it, clipped on my flower and done.

Don't Wonder If You Have Been Forgiven

Hello Everyone,

I have a friend with whom I constantly debate.  One debate was about forgiveness and just what that means when it comes to God forgiving us. We disagreed on some points, but let me share my point with you.

Stop self condemnation and believe that God Forgives.  I think it is hard for some to believe they have been forgiven for doing something wrong, because, they feel the need to badger themselves to keep from doing it again.  Here is the thing, if you have asked God to forgive you and you truly are remorseful, then why not believe that it is done.  O.k., self badgering is a mechanism as a reminder not to do it again, but if you have been forgiven that is enough.  Just to know that God Himself loves you and with His sincere heart has answered your request of forgiveness, is freedom from what has been done.

Believe in your heart what is asked of Him.  It is not something that has to be publicized or told to anyone, just you knowing that your talk with the Father was sincere is worth its weight in gold.  God really loves us, He made us and does not want us to not get beyond our faults, but to acknowledge the error in our ways, not repeat it and move on.  He looks forward to our happiness and to see us be whole, not broken and guilt ridden.  His love is never ending and He believes in us.  So, we must learn to grow and flourish and not feel that God is dwelling on our errors, for it is us that actually do that, keeping us bound to regret and guilt.  It does not get us any where and slows progress and joy.  God's love is great and extends itself beyond mistakes.  Once He forgives, we must be thankful and leave it alone.

When Prayers Go Up

Hello Everyone,

I just want to check in with you and talk about prayer.  I will not be long, but want to express the importance and the mighty power in a prayer.  There is so much loss, sickness and devastation that prayer is our air, we need it.  I saw on Facebook where people were asking for prayer due to loss or sickness, I made my comments and then later today, I received an e-mail that a close friend of the family had passed.  Wow, I thought, how fragile life is, the young lady that passed, I have known for many many years and never in the imagination would I ever think that she would not live to see her elder years.

I just want to encourage everyone to pray and live life with zeal in the deeds of goodness and joy.  We must appreciate each day and give thanks.  Prayer with its power can bring strength and comfort in trying times.  God knows, feels and cares about every tear that fills our eyes. Prayer really does make a difference.  Through prayers, we surrender burdens and worries.

This video is to give thanks to the gift of Prayer, to encourage prayer and to hopefully touch the heart of someone.

What Is Your Song For Monday?

Hello Everyone,

Do you have a song that just picks you up?  Music really connects with the mind, body and spirit. I am a lover of all genres of music and each inspires me in its own way.  Always, as I go through my week, music, music, music all week long.  It gets me through my days.  There is a song that lifts me up every time I hear it.   Do you have a song that does that for you? Ii is like nourishing food giving you a boost and making you feel better.

Music has a healing quality to it among many other qualities.  We listen for various reasons, some for a pick me up, motivation, focus, to have a good cry, to stop crying, to relax, to get pumped, when I use to attend spin class, like it was going out of style, the music pumped me up, I felt like I could cycle for days.  At the time, my spin instructor Tim would play all sorts of intense songs, but when he would play "Go Hard or Go Home," the entire class was in the zone.  Music is something that the world can not do without.  Every part of the world has music that serves so many purposes.  If you feel like you are having a hard time getting through your day, turn on some music and see what happens.

So, this song that I previously mentioned that lifts me up every time I hear it is by +Manifesto.  This is going to be my Monday song.  What is yours going to be?

From Struggle To Victory

Hello Everyone,

Just checking in with you to share a short story inspired by a friend.  Last evening, I was speaking with a dear friend and he said "In the world today so many people are struggling, but the struggles lead to victory."  So, he continued on and I listened as he spoke about certain things being symbolic of the struggle while the same symbol represents victory.   I gleaned from this that in our struggles of life we have to hold on to faith and know that on the other side of struggle is victory.

In today's economic climate, courts are back logged with divorce cases, finances in bank accounts are dwindling, job loss is hard hitting and job hunts are brutal.  There are many that are feeling the effects of stress due to worry about their current state of affairs and can not see a doctor, because there is no health insurance.  People are walking around feeling bad, sad, and broke, but even in the midst of it all, the struggles, you can have victory.   You have to believe and possibly have something to remind you that you are on your way to victory.  For me, I wear crosses, it can be a necklace, ring or bracelet, but it is my symbol to keep in faith and remind me that in the midst of trials God has me.

In all of the noise that the world makes, focus is important so that you will not be caught up in lamenting over your circumstance, but thank God in advance for what is to come and thank Him where you are for what He has done by keeping you everyday, even if you are still in your situation, hope will sustain you and bring peace and patience.  One day, it will just ease up on you, days will get better and brighter right in the struggle, your worries will diminish, then you will be able to look forward to the next day and the next anxious about what good it will bring, and you still may be in the struggle.  God can turn it around and you will smile just because you are confident that God is right there with you, walking, watching, speaking and loving.

Don't Quit

Hello Everyone,

We all have greatness within us to make great things happen.  The power is within you to dream big and make those dreams come true, but you can not quit.  Turn a deaf ear to the criticisms of  naysayers and hecklers who do not have the power within themselves to make you, only you can do that.  Take it to another level and decide to believe in you no matter what, take it to another level and decide that you are worth your dreams coming true, take it to another level and tell fear to step out of your way, because you have things to do and places to go.

Today, is where you can start to change how you think and do.  Motivate yourself everyday, just by simply saying "I can."  The first step can only take you to the second, so, take the first step.  Do not care what others say, it will not be a determining factor as to if you will succeed.  Once you decide that you are going to go after your purpose, stay charged, keep momentum, when you get tired, keep momentum, when others have their opinions, grow your momentum, when you for one second begin to doubt your potential, gain momentum, in all the momentum getting, pray.

You, it is you that holds the blue print to your destiny.

How to Tame Your Temper

Hello Everyone,

The best way to tame your temper is to stop, breath and do not say anything right away.  It is always helpful to not be reactive to what others may say or do.  As you begin to calm down, thinking will be clearer and the opportunity to handle matters the way that you really want is still there.  People will try to provoke certain responses from you by saying things that will boil you over, but do not be that predictable, remember to stop and just breath.  There were times when in my heart I would just say the name Jesus while the person in front of me was trying hard to press every button I have.  It did not work, my joy was not theirs to take or diminish.  All of my buttons were still unpressed and my day went well.

It is really good to give yourself a break, if you get upset, take a brief walk, drink some water, inhale through the nose exhale through the mouth, if you can listen to music or hear the song within, recite scriptures in your heart, tell yourself that it is all o.k., you will control your temper not an outside source.  It makes a difference for your state of mind and your physical wellness.  Why give yourself a headache, because you gave someone permission to get you that upset.  Take control of your temper, just because someone says something way, way, way out left field does not mean that it yields a response.  Sometimes, we feel that we have to prove that no one is going to just step all over us, but not responding can keep your temper from elevating and actually show others that you are not going to be moved by ignorance.  I would never say do not speak up, but do it when necessary, save your oxygen for something important.

If you are now in a situation that challenges your temper control just begin to practice not responding quickly and think about how you will handle the situation or if you need even respond, you can tell the person calmly what point you need to get across and end it, so that it will not become an exchange.  Avoid being effected by wasteful comments that take precious moments out of your day.  Others will then begin to realize that they need to move along, because you will not allow them to negatively affect you.  It is not worth your time and especially it is not worth your spiritual, emotional or physical health.  We all have the ability to tame our tempers and just keep things moving beyond drama and hype.  Most importantly, always pray for calm and peace in the face of any adversity.

How Can You Say No?

Hello Everyone,

This is not a gimmick, advertisement or joke.  I am asking you, because you are destined for greatness and have so much promise.  How can you say no?  If there is a plan for our lives, then we need to ride the wave.  This is something that my brother told me.  We were discussing life and how at the time things did not seem to be working out for either of us, we work hard, try to be upstanding and are thriving to achieve than why is this?  Then my brother said to me that he thought that we were trying  relying too much on others instead of ourselves and our God given skills and talents.  Then he said,  from now on, I am just riding the wave, where ever God sends me and moves me to do, that is what I will do, the wave is his counsel and guide for me, I can only end up in the right place." Oh boy, ever since he said that, I have been riding the wave. Can I challenge you to do the same?  God will not steer you in the wrong direction, he will be your compass, the wave will take you to places you never dreamed for yourself.   The wave in high tide will take you above the drama and show you things that you would not have ordinarily seen, when the waves are calm, He gives you peace, when the waves are strong and tossing about, He gives you strength to stay afloat, when the debris is floating your way, He rolls the waves another way.  You think that you dream big now, He can fulfill your dreams and then some, but we have got to be willing to let Him have control.

So, why say no?  Time waits for no woman, no man.  Say yes, to your greatness and right to be __________.  The blank is for you to fill.  One life is what is gifted to us and our purpose is in God's plan, but we have got to have a little faith and go for it.

If +Arthur Boorman could be so determined in this video to walk again unassisted.  You, can go after your dream. Believe, believe, believe that you have got what it takes.

Speak Out, Design Your Destiny, Be Encouraged

Hello everyone,

I have an announcement,  I am now on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/oreadea.trueness?ref=tn_tnmn
So, please visit and like me on Facebook, post comments too.

I am discovering that what my Dad told me and tells me over and over, "Oreadea, you are the architect of your destiny," is true.  I have always worked in the community volunteering and doing advocacy work, but it took an experience to bring me to true activism. I now know first hand what it is like to feel that you have no where to go after everyone you went to ignored you.  I can not say much at this time, but I can say from a stand of experience, that injustice has no place anywhere, we always think when we hear injustice that it is domestic violence, street violence on innocent people or racism, but no, it can raise its' ugly head most often than not in other places.

I just want to encourage silent sufferers, not just in possibly domestic violence situations, but other places as well, to speak out, you are stronger than you think.  If you remain silent, it will cause more harm than good.  Pray often and trust that God in heaven hears you and will carry you through.  Believe me when I say, he will have your back and step between you and those out to harm you for choosing not to remain silent.

So, I said that to say, I am not just deciding to take on such a charge out of simply being moved by stories of injustice, but I actually have my own story.  Take courage and believe in your strength no matter what, God will take care of you, it may not seem reasonable to say, do not worry, because you may be faced with decisions that impact your lively hood and life, but, God has got it, and He has got you.

As the architect of my destiny, I choose to be proactive and active in helping others to find their voices, to make a difference in society and to be able to provide encouragement to those who need it.  You too, are the architect of your destiny, the foundation that you decide to lay and the framework that you decide to create will hold up your dreams and be strong for you to build the life that you see for yourself.  Find your strength and build upon it.  No one can tear you down as long as God is building you up.

HairCare Friday, Meet Monica

 Hello Everyone,

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my natural honor to introduce........................................................................

Monica

styling a natural curly ponypuff

I am completely natural and loving it.  Almost 2 years ago in August, I big chopped and became chemical free.  I love seeing what seems like a movement of ladies going natural; it is powerful. My kids have embraced my hair and are not exactly big on seeing me with it straight.

My hair enjoys Shea Moisture products.  I use Shea Moisture Enhancing Smoothie and the Souffle together, smooth it in my hair, let it air dry and go.  I co-wash once a week and shampoo with Shea Moisture shampoo once a month.

It is great to see so many naturals and I hope more go natural.

I have a request for videos from last Friday's dedication videos to the naturals.  So, here it is.....................
