I have an announcement, I am now on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/oreadea.trueness?ref=tn_tnmn
So, please visit and like me on Facebook, post comments too.
I am discovering that what my Dad told me and tells me over and over, "Oreadea, you are the architect of your destiny," is true. I have always worked in the community volunteering and doing advocacy work, but it took an experience to bring me to true activism. I now know first hand what it is like to feel that you have no where to go after everyone you went to ignored you. I can not say much at this time, but I can say from a stand of experience, that injustice has no place anywhere, we always think when we hear injustice that it is domestic violence, street violence on innocent people or racism, but no, it can raise its' ugly head most often than not in other places.
I just want to encourage silent sufferers, not just in possibly domestic violence situations, but other places as well, to speak out, you are stronger than you think. If you remain silent, it will cause more harm than good. Pray often and trust that God in heaven hears you and will carry you through. Believe me when I say, he will have your back and step between you and those out to harm you for choosing not to remain silent.
So, I said that to say, I am not just deciding to take on such a charge out of simply being moved by stories of injustice, but I actually have my own story. Take courage and believe in your strength no matter what, God will take care of you, it may not seem reasonable to say, do not worry, because you may be faced with decisions that impact your lively hood and life, but, God has got it, and He has got you.
As the architect of my destiny, I choose to be proactive and active in helping others to find their voices, to make a difference in society and to be able to provide encouragement to those who need it. You too, are the architect of your destiny, the foundation that you decide to lay and the framework that you decide to create will hold up your dreams and be strong for you to build the life that you see for yourself. Find your strength and build upon it. No one can tear you down as long as God is building you up.
With inspiration,
Oreadea
