When Someone Hurts You And You Need Peace Of Mind

Hello Strong Men & Women,

It seems that I have been having conversations with so many hurt or simply unhappy people lately.      I feel compelled to blog on the subject.  You know, I see hurt as something felt in a place that is considered indescribable and unreachable.  Hurt can take one to a place of surrender, wherein, you give in to what you have been fighting against.  For example, someone may be determined not to be emotionally affected by someone close to them that puts them down, but the day comes when everything makes for the perfect storm, that person's mood, the fact that they have begun to be affected by the person, even fatigue sets in and it happens, the melt down, when all emotions are on the loose and the pressure cooker explodes.

I had various conversations with individuals that touched on reasons why they feel hurt or unhappy.  So, I am thinking, what can I say to ease their hurt or unhappiness, but it is good to listen at times, and say nothing other than a prayer in your heart. I am not an expert who can say do this and you will be rid of all hurt and unhappiness.  But, I do know from experience that prayer and actively working on becoming strong is vital in healing.  Sometimes, the people that we let into our lives do not have overall good intentions and do not reciprocate your kindness, real sense of friendship and genuine compassion for them.  In some cases, there are relationships and friendships that are broken because one hurt the other.

I could go through many situations where people become hurt and unhappy.  I will add that decisions we make are not always good ones and therefore, we somewhat dig our own ditch.  But, what I want to do is encourage anyone reading this who is hurt and just can not figure out why this happened.  First, I say, for every moment that you want to play back what happened, don't, pray instead,  give yourself room to feel the sadness that it brings then be thankful for the revelation.  Sometimes, when we see things after the fact, we get upset, which is human, but be thankful too that you know what you did not before.  Second, I want to say, do not place blame on you for not seeing or maybe you did and decided to ignore signs.  All you can do from here is take in the lesson and apply it to your future.  Give yourself credit for even feeling hurt.  Some people just are cold and care very little.  Just to have feelings that are real and can be extended to another is in its own way a blessing.  If you are caring and loving, remain that way.  Do not become bitter and begin to build the highest emotional wall ever, just be thankful for the heart that you have to be kind, gentle, thoughtful, understanding and good, by no means does this make you gullible.  It makes you human, living in God's light.

There is a video that I watched awhile ago and I heard the song sung by a different artist.  The song is titled "Peace of Mind" sung by Lauryn Hill.  During the time that she sung this song she was hurt and in tremendous pain over a breakup, the song gave her an outlet.  Never feel that you can not recover from pain and unhappiness.  It is a part of life's lessons and we have to learn to grow from them and be encouraged to move passed them.  You can recover, you can find happiness, you can heal, you can find peace of mind.  I have my own story too, so, I understand your hurt.  Just never doubt God's power to heal your hurt.  Let Him Be Your Peace Of Mind.

Are You Comfortable?

Hello Strong Men & Women,

Do you feel quite content with where you are, but still have a dream?  How can that be you ask?  Well, it can  happen by feeling that you have done pretty good for yourself, a decent job, financially fit and just satisfied.  Then, you look at your dream and determine, it does not seem attainable, but that is no big deal, because........you are comfortable, no real complaints right?

Comfort does not necessarily equal true fulfillment, until you pursue your dreams and make them happen, you should not lay back in your easy chair.  There is more life to be had.  When we see dreams as being unattainable, that is when negative thoughts begin to tell you, "look at that dream, it is too far for you to reach," "You need to be satisfied with what you have accomplished, not many have done what you have done, stop trying to be so happy."  Have you heard this one, "Why put yourself through the pressures of going after that dream, it is not worth facing its' challenges, you are afraid anyway?" All of this is just mental noise and has nothing to do with anything until, you listen to it.

Get out of being comfortable, step out of your comfort zone and start getting in motion.  It does not have to be a quick motion.  It is like riding a bike, the gears have to get in alignment, you have to repeatedly peddle for a nice smooth ride, but to get to that point, you start out with a slow peddling motion, you have to hold on to the handle bars to really get some momentum, but if you just stay in motion, keep peddling......guess what, it begins to happen, it gets easier and now you can ride with no hands.  Hills maybe in the path, but, if you keep peddling, you will make it to the top, because you stayed in motion.  As fun as biking is, it is not always easy, it takes effort, safety gear, which for us, is ...prayer.  However, along the way, you will see beautiful scenes, you may meet others who share your ambitions, there will be nice smooth surfaces.  It will not happen if you do not try and to your surprise, you might become uncomfortable.

My message is, do not consider comfortable as where you should be.  If you do not have dreams and are truly satisfied, then, be comfortable.  This does not pertain to you.  But, if you have this burning desire that just will not leave you alone, then you need to get in motion and stay in motion.  Do not stop because of negative thoughts or even negative comments from others.  This has always been my feeling, those that do not support my dreams did not make me.  He who crafted and created me and wired me a certain way has given me this dream, ultimately, the dream is actually my purpose.  So, my dream constantly nudges me and keeps me in motion.  I am going to keep peddling until I get there.  So, for you, please keep peddling too:)

Push Your Passion Repost

Hello Strong Men & Women,

Push your passion, be your purpose and give it all you've got.  If you want to sing, be the best crooner anyone has ever heard, if you want to be a musician, put your heart in every tune, if you want to be a leader, have the biggest nerve to stand alone if you must. Push your passion, be your purpose and give it all you've got.  What is your limit you ask?  Are you ready for the answer?  Your limit is 0.  You can go as far as you wish, once you believe.  There are no limits for you, only those made by you.

Push your passion, be your purpose and give it all you've got.  Pray always.

If You Never Get An Apology

We so desire to hear those 3 little words, "I am sorry."  If they are not sincere, what are they really worth to you?   Throughout life people are going to do and say things that are hurtful and we feel that an apology is in order.  Yes, it is, but, don't force anyone to give it and do not feel that there is no closure if you do not get one.  Here is the key, if you can forgive and move passed it, it is better than an empty, "I am sorry."  If something is on your chest let the person know, do not let them walk around oblivious to your feelings.  It is not fair to consider it common sense for them to know that you were wounded by their words.  It is best to have a moment with him/her to express how you feel, but, be prepared to put it behind you after that.  If you do not get an apology,  just use it as a measuring stick to govern your interaction with him/her in the future.

Too often, we feel that an apology equals closure.  However,  your feeling of closure is not predicated on those 3 little words.  Closure really comes from knowing that you are whole without it.  Have I had first-hand experience with feeling the need for an apology and did not get one?  Absolutely, it took me a minute to realize that an apology is not going to provide closure for me, because, I knew that it would not be sincere.  So, what did I do?  I began to examine the character of the person as I came to see it.  You may not come to anything in particular, however, take heed to how a person reacts to you from that point on.  My Dad would always says, "You are what you are when you act."  I found this to be so true and I measure accordingly.  My point is, an apology is not needed to bring wholeness to you.  You are already whole and if it never comes, it will not change the fact that you are whole already.  It is not a good feeling to feel dismissed by anyone, however, keep your power.  Do not give an inch of it away by persistently wanting someone to acknowledge your feelings.  Sometimes, it just may not happen.

If you never get an apology,  it is ok.  You can now see a little clearer into the character of a person and can choose to be cautious. You want to have genuine people in your corner, who will acknowledge you when you are hurt and who will truly care about your heart.  Do not be dismayed, instead, feel relieved about the revelation that you now see what you did not see previously.  Would you rather an empty apology or sincere one?  With that asked, assess, measure and govern things accordingly.

Last, but not least, pray for comfort of your hurt, counsel in dealing with it and look forward to an emotional growth spurt.  Don't be arrested in this, wake up and see you as whole no matter an apology or not.

You Thought You Could But, Found Out That You Could Not....

My Strong Sisters & Brothers,

We must not leave God out of any equation.  Many times, we feel that solving a problem is doable, not necessarily easy, but can be done our way.  Well, allow me not to be the messenger of bad news, but, of good news.  God is the answer,  for He never leaves us alone.  In life, we feel that we do so much on our own, but we really do not.  How about wake up each day, have the function of limbs, have a stable mind, care and have a true concern for others or  go through even (1) day free from hurt, harm or danger.  We can easily feel that if we inhale and exhale that it is all us, but no, it is God giving us life, when we awaken, we think, it is "because our bodies have an alarm clock."  However, it is God blessing us with another day, when we think things over and reconcile our problems or even decide to brush our teeth and eat, it is God that is keeping our minds, when our hearts have love for others, it is God that we are sharing with others.  God is there for us through everything and we must keep Him in everything.

Many, Many times we think that we are a bother to God, because, we cry to Him so often about the same problem, can you believe that He is there every time.  He will wait on us to put our entire trust in Him.  He already knows what to do with our problems and how to fix them.  Unfortunately, we are so easy to just pass our control, our happiness and our securities over to others. Yet, we hold on to the very thing that God asks us to give Him, our troubles, our cares, our burdens.  He wants to make us whole, not leave us in a broken state.  We must allow Him to help us put the pieces back together.  He can make us brand new and free from torment, worry, stress, doubt and depression.  I added doubt, because, we are so held down from climbing up due to doubting that we can do anything right.  Well, God does not agree with that, He wants to raise us up, lift our heads and give us confidence in His name.

There is no shame what so ever in admitting that we can not do things alone.  We should request the presence and intervention of God to come to our rescue, to make a wonderful difference in our lives, to counsel us and give us pure joy in our hearts, bless our feet that we may walk in the strength that He commands.  All of this, He promises to do for us right here on earth.  All we have to do is to stop thinking that we can do it alone and give God the controls.  No one or nothing is greater than He.

When You Don't Feel Ready For Change

Hello Strong Men & Women,

There comes a time in life when change is inevitable, but, we are just not ready.  The part of us that is not ready, is uncomfortable and can not see all that change will bring.  However, if it is for the better of your health, sanity or spiritual well being, then guess what, you are in for a pleasant surprise.  Many times, we become complacent in pain, misery, grief or meritocracy and there is no real vision or perception of change, it is too unfamiliar.  Complacency steals time, joy and dreams.  We are made to fulfill purpose in life, God does not want us to not live our purpose, nor does He want us to stay stuck in any situation.

Change can be shockingly painful, because, we realize that we may have to leave others behind that pull us down, let go of negative situations in our lives, give God control and do as He says and at times, it can really hurt.  However, it is what is best, if we truly want to be happy.

Change for the better can only make you better.  There is nothing that God can not do, so you know that He can step right in the middle of your situation and pull you to the top.  We only get (1) life and it is not for others to destroy, but for us to live and live it to the best of our ability.  We can not control others, but we can be in control of us.  We know in our hearts what is going to improve our life, it is the sigh of not wanting this to be our reality, but most times, it is.  Therefore, if we choose not to change, the situation will only stay the same or worsen.  My advice to you is to pray, tell God your fears, but also, give Him your trust.

You will be o.k. You may not be ready for change, change is ready for you.

I hope the song below inspires you.

How To Believe

Hello Everyone,

Life is something that we can not predict it's every twist and turn, we hope, pray and anticipate.  This is where believing and faith comes into play.  We are not made to know everything, nor could we handle it if we did.  God knows how much we can bare and when we can bare it.  Thus, life happens.

So, how does one believe?  First, you must believe that God is almighty and that He keeps His word no mater what.  We, however, must trust Him and look to Him for help.  One believes by accepting the fact that God may not come when we want Him, but, He is always on time.  One believes by surrendering worries upon Him and trusting that He will come through.  One believes by letting God be there through it all and yield not to how one perceives things should be, but, look forward to God's results, which will far exceed anything one could ever imagine.

I have learned that God is a true friend and wonderful heavenly Father.  He makes His presence known, when we need His shoulder to lean upon, He will let us lean as long as we need.  Someone very near and dear to me once recited the Serenity Prayer to me, I am so thankful.  It helped me so much.  I would always reflect on the first part.  I would like to share the entire prayer with you.

Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

 Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Believe that God will come through.

Hello Everyone,

I am so sorry for not being consistent, what I have been going through has taken a toll and my heart really wanted to write, but I just did not have the words.  I am on Facebook and it is easy to just post, but it takes energy and drive to write.  So, here I am again, but this time, I will write for now, at least once a week.  If I can help or encourage someone, I feel it in my heart to do that even in my storm.

So, to start here is a song of encouragement.  I have learned first hand, that faith is truly a walk of believing that God is there when you cry, smile or are just lost for words.  He just wants to help and give love to heal our hearts, but it is a matter of giving him the broken pieces.

If You Don't, You Won't

There are places in life where we must make a decision to do or not to do.  Life's cycle is perpetual, each year goes by with or without our cooperation.  We may try to buy time, hold off on things, give ourselves reasons not to do, but guess what, the sun rises, then sets, the moon comes out and it starts all over again the next day.  So, if you don't decide to believe in yourself and make your dreams come true, you won't become who you are meant to become.

Fear is our worst enemy, but it enjoys being cozy with us.  Fear wants to be our very best friend. Why, so that it can conquer you in spite of the real fact that you have a dream and you know that you have a purpose.  Fear is a bully that will only continue, if you let it.  Here is the good news about fear.  You have power over it.  You can take fear along for a little while.  What do I mean by this?  What I mean is that in the beginning of your journey toward your dreams you may have a little nerves about it, which is fear, but then you must give fear the boot and step out on faith.  So, this is just one moment worth of realization that you are really doing this, pursuing your dreams and after that, the boot.

It is o.k.. to envision, to close your eyes and day dream about becoming, but when does the becoming begin?  You have to do, if you don't, you won't.  Life is here for you to live on purpose and you were put in the cycle of life to live out something wonderful and make a mark on someone somewhere in this world.  But if you don't, you won't.

I am just saying that all things are possible.  This is scripture, so if you can not believe that you can do it, believe the scripture.  If all things are possible, why aren't you included.  We are all included.  It is our own lack of faith in ourselves that keeps the possible from happening.  I was about to say, just imagine you being who you were meant to be, it is time to do, to be, to stand in the place that your purpose has reserved for you.

Just a thought to encourage you.  Don't dare to dream be the dream.  If you don't, you won't.
