Are You Satisfied?

Hello Everyone,

How far are you willing to roll up your sleeves and work on all that you see in your future.  It is not an illusion; it is very real, you are actually seeing your tomorrow.  Your hopes and dreams you can imagine, because you can make them come true.

If others can dare to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and in fact live to tell about it, then why not take your steps.  Fear is not our companion, sure it will stick around, be there when your down, shadow you throughout your day, try to be your BFF, but it is up to us to give fear a ticket to ride the other way.

Everyday when you look in the mirror, tell yourself, I deserve it, I am worth it and I believe in me.  Then, go do something about you that makes success your story.

You Already Have What It Takes:)

Those Who Have Not May Have More - Re-Post

Hello Everyone,

There is much to be said about humankind and what people go through.  Today, it could be me tomorrow you; this is what we must remember.  This is no class of people better than another and we are all human not kind of human, or almost, or not quite, but we are human.  People of all colors are subject to hunger, homelessness, addictions and abuse.  So, we must not judge anyone, but care about everyone.  We may not be able to help, but we can care.  Everyone is loved by someone. I can not speak to everyone's origin of their circumstance or their story, but I think it is o.k. to want the world to be better.  We have to be mindful of how what we say and do can affect others.  Some become addicts due to childhood trauma and abuse that they never shared with anyone.  Some live based on the seed they have sewn in life.  We just do not know, but if when we see others that are down, we can at least give a kind word or simply a prayer in our hearts.

Years ago, my brother called me one day and said that there was a homeless man that he usually bought milk for who spent time outside of a local 7 eleven store and that it was his day to buy milk, but could not make it, but if I could get him the milk or whenever I saw him.  I lived by the store so I told him sure I could get him milk.  I said to him wow, I did not know that, my brother told me that he had been making sure that he had milk for quite awhile and that he had so many stories about life that were on point.  He went on to tell me how one day when he bought him some milk he said to him him, "young man never give up, you may give out, but never give up."  He told him that he was old and lived many years, but as long as you never give up than you are o.k.  My brother said he really had a positive impact on him, here is someone who had no home, but so much heart and spirit that he wanted to encourage someone else.

So, one day I went to the store and there he was, so I told him who I was and he said oh yea and described my brother.  I told I would go in the store and get him milk, I did, then I asked him why do you only want milk?  He said to me that he was trying to nourish his bones, he did not want to become feeble and unable to walk, because he had to walk a lot to find places to sleep and he did not eat healthy, but he knew that milk would help his bones.  He thanked me and I left.  O.k., here  I go, I was positively impacted just like my brother Lan.  This man had a sense of wanting to live and determination.  Time went on and my brother and I continued to visit him at the store until he just was not there anymore.  This went on over a period of a couple of years.  We somewhat thought the worst, he was an older man, but at best, he found a place to live.

Humanity is not just for those that have, but for those that have not, because those that have not material things can have so much inspiration.

Take a listen to the Christopher Vernardo, a homeless man on the video singing a song that he composed about his life on the streets of L.A. and what he has seen.

Not sure why he was made to take off his hat and turn, turn as if taking a mug shot, but......

What Is Your Monday Song?

Hello Everyone,

My Monday song is "Wait On The Lord" by Donnie McClurkin and Karen Clarke Sheard

Video posted by +Collins Uzochi

It is so easy to become frustrated by the process of waiting for relief from a bad situation, but faith with waiting sustains us until God moves to show those that thought they were out smarting the law of reaping what you sow that they are not so smart.  But, we must wait on the Lord.

Happy Father's Day

Hello Everyone,

I would like like to wish all the fathers and father figures a Happy Father's Day.  I am truly grateful for my father;  he is such a man of faith and so kindhearted and has been this way all of my life.  He is the best dad and I love him so much, always having time to listen and to try and be helpful and understanding.  I mentioned in an earlier post how when I was growing up, after long days of work,  in his suit and dress shoes, he would step out of the car and race me to the corner of our block and back home.  This was pretty much everyday.  Then the neighborhood boys would so conveniently play football in front of our home and would call my dad's name, they would throw him the ball and he would play catch with them, still in his suit and hard shoes.

I am an activist/advocate today, because of my dad.  When I was growing up, he would take me with him as he worked as a volunteer in various communities.  He was always giving of himself through community service.  I recall a local school heard about him and asked that he adopt the school and help the impoverished students.  He accepted and started a campaign to get shoes not just for the students, but for each family member who lived with the student. So many students had holes in their shoes.  I recall saying to my dad, "how are you going to get shoes for everyone in the family/"  He began explaining how he was really poor as a child and he had holes in the bottoms of his shoes, so, he would use cardboard to put in the bottom so that the bottoms of his feet would have some protection from the ground.  He was on a mission and was successful in getting shoes for these families.  He launched a campaign on his job, at church and in several neighborhoods across the city and on his own.  Then, he delivered all of these shoes to each household. He eventually, received more calls to adopt schools and as much work as it took, he continued adopting schools, he moved from campaigning for shoes to adding clothes.  As others heard of him they would donate huge bags of shoes and clothes and again, he would deliver to each family.  He helped the young, the elderly and everyone in between.  He was able to get so many people jobs by helping them find agencies that taught how to write resumes, build interviewing skills and who donated clothes for job interviews.

It was touching when he retired from his day job and I say day job, because, years later he is still trying to help people, it is just who he is. Getting back to the point, to his surprise at his retirement a large section of the room was filled with men and women who he helped and many spoke of how he stepped in and helped them one no one else would.  At one point, all them surrounded him and hugged him and cried so hard.  I just looked at everyone that my dad helped, all of these people and they are really crying.  Then his co-workers began crying; I do not think there was a dry eye in the house,       It really touched me and today, I remain inspired to make a difference in the lives of others.

He has always been strong through adversity and always held on to God's word no matter what. He is so spiritual and I am a witness that his faith has brought him thus far.

Thank you daddy, I love you so, so much. You are my hero:)

He Has To Be Here

Hello Everyone,

We have experienced those many times when we acknowledge that God has worked something out for us, protected us and we know that He did it. But what about when people say that God can not be seen, but we know that he is there. Yes, absolutely, He is there, however, we do see Him, not physically, but His works are always revealed to us. He is visible in that sense, because, He did say that He would never leave us. There are people in the world, in our lives that may not have our best interest, may be plotting for us to fail and are making big efforts to set traps, but here is the fantastic part, God sees all of it, hears every conversation against you and knows the heart of those that despise and use you. So, He is always working on our behalf to make certain that His child, He keeps and protects. As we go through situations, it does not feel good at all, because people are relentless in their efforts to make us miserable, but, right there God stands watching and giving support. Although, we think we could not feel more awful, believe me, if the Lord was not there, it would be unbearable. In His time He will fix it. He knows what He is doing and why, once He makes His move, we will see. We must be patient and wait on God that way it does not look as though we did anything, no one can place blame on you, those outside and within the situation, even those that were working against you will know that God was in your corner and with Him, they can do nothing. He has to be here with us,
He said that He would.

Relationship Food For Thought

Hello Everyone,

I had an interesting conversation with a friend about life, relationships and making not so easy life decisions.  As far as relationships go, she shared that a friend of hers would like to marry.  It has just been a long time dream of hers to be a wife and have a family, but it seems that this dream always outweighs her better judgement in choosing someone who wants a commitment.  Now, her current relationship is coming to an end.  She was told by the gentleman that when he met her, she was like a shoe in a shoe store that catches your eye, it looks good on the shelf and you ask to try it on with the anticipation that it will not just look good on, but will feel good on.  Well, he told her that once he tried on the shoe, it was not a good fit, he walked around a little, even took it home to walk around in it some more to see if he could break it in and make that shoe fit, but it just does not feel good on.  It just looks good.  She is hurt by this and does not want the relationship to end and wants him to commit.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am not a relationship guru, but we must become whole on our own.  No one can complete you, so please do not search the world over for wholeness through someone else.  If we are whole than we can be in a relationship happily and if not, if we are whole than we are confident enough to honestly assess what is happening and maybe make some decisions.  I mentioned "maybe" because, I am not the one to say leave, take a break or stay. But, I am one to say, stop, inhale, exhale and sit for a while and think about if your heart is being treated the way that you would want and deserve.  Everyone, has to decide for themselves what to do, it is one's own relationship, therefore, their decision.

This conversation prompted me to examine acceptance and just how much is accepted and tolerated in relationships.  Real love does not have favorites, real love is for everyone, but it is our list of surface things that keep real love from finding us.  Just as the shoe this young man described, it looks good, that is surface stuff, but when he put that shoe on and walked around, even gave himself more time and took the shoe home, finally, he saw that the shoe was just not going to fit him well.  So, this young lady, he feels is not for him.  He got to know her and decided it will not work.  This is just a food for thought entry this evening.

Who Do You Know?

Hello Everyone,

You know that famous saying, "It is who you know."  Well, at times who you know can be an advantage and other times, it is better not to know certain people.  It can be a slippery slope with dropping names and using who you know to impress others, because those names you drop may not be the names that the one who you are telling admires.  If we can work on being  a self-made success through the name of Jesus, we all would be better off.  Then, you only have Jesus to thank and that is enough for Him.

There are so many people who are held to favors because someone did them a favor.  Some people find themselves regretting having ever done a favor for someone, and it all started with "Who you know."  The world of politics is very familiar with this dance and it makes for decisions that one would not ordinarily make, because, someone knew someone and that person did someone a favor now, someone owes another favor-ugh vertigo.  This is too much and it keeps one held to another favor.

Wouldn't it be grand to have someone do great things for you and in your best interest, never to hurt you, only to support and lift you without condition, and to keep doing this over and over again.  Does this sound too good to be true?  It is not, the only name that means everything is Jesus.  His name, you do not have to drop to get results.  You just have to know Him for yourself and He will exceed what any favor can do.  If we can just depend on Him, we can be self-made, because He already sees our placement and knows our heart and does not want us to be placed in a you scratch my back, I scratch your back situation.  So, together, let's begin to rely on Jesus and create a stronger relationship with Him and know Him and let Him control our situations.  So, in our hearts, in the face of anything, we can say, "I know Jesus, He has got this."

Wow, If We Just Believe

Hello Everyone,

Do we realize how much could be accomplished, if we just believed in ourselves, not needing validation from someone else, not needing someone to say, "you can," but, to believe and tell ourselves that we can?  When people say "The sky is the limit," in its own way that is true, if the sky is all you see, but if not, there is no limit to what we can do, only the limits that we place upon ourselves.  If God says to believe in Him and He shall give us what our heart desires, then where is the limit?
This is without strings, contractual agreements, or price tags and it is with the most mighty and biggest power that is and will ever be.

Believing has no price tag, has no conditions and is something that will bring wealth.   The kind of wealth I speak of is in strength, confidence and faith that will take you further than you ever thought possible.  Financial wealth is also possible if that is your dream, but guess what?  You first have to believe that you can become financially wealthy.

There is a video that I posted awhile ago that I am re-posting it. It was so inspiring.
The gentleman in the video could not have done what he did, unless he believed.

You do great things when you believe and believing is free.

When You Lose Your Footing

Hello Everyone,

Sometimes in life, we lose our footing and we get quite distracted by stressful situations.  So, our eyes get off of what we are really aiming to accomplish.  So, as we lose our footing, we have to find it again.  Everyone at some point has lost their footing, but do not give up on getting back on track.

Losing your footing is more than normal, but counter-productive to progress.  So, when this happens, what do we do? It is good to take a pause and breathe for a moment and know that this is temporary, may be this is something that needs your attention right now, but keep your goals in view and do not give all of your time to your distraction, but continue to work on goals, one task at a time.

Losing your footing only means that the balance that you began to maintain was interrupted.  Stressful situations seem to find us when we are just beginning to focus on positive things and we begin the work on what we really want for ourselves, then, with a big hello and a hug, here comes the storm, misplacing things and creating loads of noise.  So, if it is something that you must address, do that, but keep your hands working on the positive.  It is easy to get worn down and tired from the stressful situations and become consumed giving no more time to the positive.  We must re-up on prayers in order to get replenished and refocused.  Stress can truly make a mess of your balance and cause your foot to slip right off of the beam.

Trusting in God will move your feet right back into place.
